A tool for demodulating and decoding Automatic Identification System messages using the line input of the sound card. AIS messages are transmitted by marine vessels and contain their position, velocity and other interesting information. ODR-DabMod is the Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) OFDM modulator compliant to ETSI EN 300 401.

ODR-DabMod takes an Ensemble Transport Interface (ETI) stream as input and outputs a complex baseband stream of interlaced I/Q samples with a default sampling frequency of 2.048MHz. It can also directly drive SDR devices through Ettus' UHD driver, SoapySDR and LimeSuite.

ODR-PadEnc is an encoder for Programme Associated Data (PAD) and includes support for:

• MOT Slideshow (including catSLS), according to ETSI EN 301 234 and TS 101 499

• DLS (including DL Plus), according to ETSI EN 300 401 and TS 102 980

To encode DLS and Slideshow data, the odr-padenc tool reads images from a folder and DLS text from a file, and generates the PAD data for the encoder.

Tempest for Eliza uses a computer monitor to send out AM radio signals. This transmission can then be played as audio via a radio.

All electronic devices send out electromagnetic waves, monitors included, at frequencies high enough for a short-wave AM radio.

Tempest for Eliza displays pictures on a computer screen, one for each note in the song.

odr-audioenc is an encoder, which can read audio from a file (raw or wav), from an ALSA source, from JACK or using libVLC or GStreamer, and encode to a file, a pipe, to an EDI or ZeroMQ output compatible with ODR-DabMux.

The libVLC input allows the encoder to use all inputs supported by VLC, and therefore also webstreams and other network sources. The GStreamer input is an alternative to read from various sources.

odr-audioenc can insert Programme-Associated Data, that can be generated with ODR-PadEnc. ODR-AudioEnc v3 is compatible with ODR-PadEnc v3.
