foxtrotGPS is a map and GPS application. By default, it uses maps from OpenStreetMap. The available features include downloading and displaying tiled maps, recording GPS tracks, automatic map centering, storing points of interest, geocoding photos, setting waypoints, monitoring heartrate via Bluetooth, planning travel routes and finding travel routes using external services on the Internet based on OpenStreetMap.

GPSBabel converts waypoints, tracks, and routes from one format to another, whether that format is a common mapping format like Delorme, Streets and Trips, or even a serial upload or download to a GPS unit such as those from Garmin and Magellan.

GPSBabel supports dozens of data formats and will be useful for tasks such as geocaching, mapping, and converting from one GPS unit to another. Among the interesting formats it supports are several GPS devices via a serial link, various PDA-based mapping programs, and various Geocaching data formats.

The gpsd service daemon can monitor one or more GPS devices connected to a host computer, making all data on the location and movements of the sensors available to be queried on TCP port 2947.

With gpsd, multiple GPS client applications can share access to devices without contention or loss of data. Also, gpsd responds to queries with a format that is substantially easier to parse than the different standards emitted by GPS devices.

This also includes common tools ubxtool and gpsctl for device configuration of the local hardware as well as a ntpshmmon to check generated refclock data.

GPS Manager (GPSMan) is a graphical manager of GPS data that makes possible the preparation, inspection and edition of GPS data in a friendly environment. GPSMan supports communication and real-time logging with both Garmin and Lowrance receivers and accepts real-time logging information in NMEA 0183 from any GPS receiver.

GPStrans allows a user with a Garmin GPS receiver to upload and download waypoints, routes, almanac (satellite orbit elements), and track routes.

Convert GPS or GPX file to ESRI/Shape file. Include the tools gps2shp and gpx2shp. These are very useful when using collected GPS points with existing GIS tools like qgis and GRASS.

Jeho modulárny návrh je schopný používať vektorové mapy v rozličných formátoch na hľadanie trás a vykresľovanie zobrazovanej mapy. Je tiež možné použiť viacero máp súčasne.

OBDII is a standard for getting diagnostic information from your car. The main tool, obdgpslogger, is a command-line tool to log that data, with your gps position, to a sqlite database. Provided alongside are various tools used to convert logs to formats such as CSV or Google Earth KML. Also contained in the package is an OBDII and ELM327 simulator, obdsim, that uses plugins to generate data.

OpenBmap is a free and open map of wireless communicating objects (e.g. cellular antenna, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth). It provides tools to mutualize data, create and access this map.

The purpose of this software is to log GSM data, together with GPS coordinate. The result can be sent to their website, in order to build a free database. They store GPS quality, speed, GSM signal strength, etc. to keep a high quality of data.

This package provides a versatile tool for GPS maps in GeoTiff format as well as Garmin's img vector map format. QLandkarteGT is the successor of QLandkarte. Among various improvements (e.g. 2D/3D map rendering and reduced resource demands) the major difference is its device-independent architecture.

Additionally, QLandkarteGT serves as a frontend to the GDAL tools, to make georeferencing of scanned maps feasible for users. In contrast to similar tools (e.g. QGis) its straightforward interface is especially suited for non-scientific users.

gpscorrelate vypĺňa polia EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) digitálnych fotografií týkajúce sa informácií GPS (Global Positioning System) (napr. GPSLatitude, GPSLongitude, GPSAltitude, ...). Vyplneniu týchto polí sa sa hovorí korelácia.

Vstupmi procesu korelácie sú množina JPEG obrázkov a DPS údaje zakódované vo formáte GPX (GPS Exchange Format).

Ak sú dostupné GPS údaje pre presný moment, kedy bola fotografia vyfotená (s rozlíšením 1 sekunda), údaje GPS sa uložia bez zmeny do polí EXIF. Ak nie, je možné použiť lineárnu interpoláciu GPS údajov dostupných v momentoch pred a potom ako bola fotografia vyfotená.

Sú dostupné nástroje pre príkazový riadok (balík gpscorrelate) a grafické rozhranie GTK+ (balík gpscorrelate-gui).
