Epiphany je jednoduchý, no mocný webový prehliadač pre GNOME určený pre netechnických používateľov. Jeho princípmi sú jednoduchosť a dodržiavanie štandardov.

Jednoduchosť je dosiahnutá kvalitným dizajnom používateľského rozhrania a spoliehaním sa, pri vykonávaní niektorých úloh (napr. čítanie emailov), na externé aplikácie. Jednoduchosť neznamená menej schopností; Epiphany má všetko, čo je od moderného prehliadača očakávané.

Dodržiavanie štandardov je zaistené na strane HTML použitím vykresľovacieho jadra WebKitGTK+ (ktoré je založené na stroji použitom v Apple Safari a Google Chrome); a na strane používateľského rozhrania prísnym dodržiavaním GNOME Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) a úzkou spoluprácou s pracovným prostredím GNOME.

Pidgin is a graphical, modular instant messaging client capable of using multiple networks at once. Currently supported out of the box are: Jabber/XMPP, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SIMPLE, and Zephyr. It can support many more with plugins.
