Fornece uma interface simples que faz a importação e organização digital de fotografias uma moleza. digiKam permite que você gerencie um grande número de fotografias digitais em álbuns e que organize essas fotografias para facilitar a recuperação usando etiquetas (palavras-chave), legendas, coleções, datas, geolocalização e pesquisas. Tem muitos recursos para visualização, organização, processamento e compartilhamento de suas imagens. Assim, digiKam é um software gerenciador de ativos digitais (digital asset management - DAM) formidável, incluindo poderosas funções de edição de imagem.

É fornecida uma interface de câmera fácil de usar, que se conectará a sua câmera digital e baixará as fotografias diretamente em álbuns digiKam. Mais de 1000 câmeras digitais são suportadas pela biblioteca gphoto2. Claro, qualquer leitor de mídia ou cartão suportados pelo seu sistema operacional terão interface com digiKam.

digiKam incorpora um editor de imagens rápido com muitas ferramentas. Você pode usar o editor de imagens para visualizar suas fotografias, comentá-las e ranqueá-las, corrigi-las, melhorá-las e alterá-las. O poder de edição pode ser facilmente estendido por um conjunto de extensões, a Interface de Extensões de Imagem KDE (KDE Image Plugins Interface) (manual).

Apesar do digiKam ser fácil de usar, fornece características de nível profissional aos montes. É totalmente habilitado a 16 bits, incluindo todas as extensões disponíveis, suporta conversão de formato RAW através de libraw, exportação DNG e fluxo de trabalho de gestão de cor ICC.

Gallery-uploader is a program which makes it immediate to upload pictures and videos to Gallery installations; Gallery (http://gallery.menalto.com/) is an advanced web photo album organizer.

Gallery-uploader can be used in two ways:

• as a standalone program, which allows the user to browse for files to upload
• as a script for Nautilus (the default GNOME file manager): for this to work, the single user must enable it (see the manual for more info).

This program is currently only able to work with installations of Gallery version 2., not 1. or 3.*.

Lazygal é outro gerador de galeria estática escrito em Python. É baseado em linha de comando, usa motor reutilizável e é preguiçoso - regenera apenas partes que têm de ser regeneradas.

Há suporte para muitas características interessantes como subgalerias, informações EXIF, temas e metadados em pasta personalizada. Temas incluídos são XHTML puro + CSS.

Cross-platform (UNIX, Mac OS X, and Windows) picture manager and organizer, Mapivi is a stand alone tool, there is no need for a web server, online access or a database.

Deals with EXIF data (like timestamp, camera model, focal length, exposure time, aperture, etc.), and is able to rename the pictures according to their internal date/time, to display and modify JPEG comments and to do lossless rotation.

The idea of using Mapivi as an picture organizer is to keep user, EXIF, and IPTC information where it belongs -- in the pictures -- as well in a searchable Mapivi database.

Mapivi is also able to do image processing. Mapivi serves here as a frontend (GUI) for many proven command line tools, like the Image Magick tools.

Shotwell é um organizador de fotos digitais feito para o ambiente de área de trabalho GNOME. Ele permite que você importe fotos, figuras, imagens e vídeos de um disco ou câmera. Shotwell pode organizar as mídias em coleções e de várias outras maneiras. O visualizador mostra em modo janela-cheia ou tela cheia e como galeria ou apresentação de slides. O editor integrado pode rotacionar, virar, cortar e etiquetar fotos, ajustar as cores e remover olhos vermelhos. É possível exportar para Facebook, Flickr ou Youtube para compartilhar com outros. Ele pode gerenciar muitos formatos de imagens como JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF e Raw CR2.

Zoph (Zoph Organizes Photos) is a web based digital image presentation and management system. In other words, a photo album. It is built with PHP and MySQL.

The backend database can relate an images to one of more albums, places, people, categories etc. Albums, places and categories can be hierarchical. Multiple users can be created, with individual access to albums.

Images can be imported via a web interface.

Album is a perl script that can create HTML photo albums for your directories of images. It supports themes that determine the visual appearance of the albums. Album creates thumbnails if necessary, and 'medium sized' versions of images for web viewing to avoid large downloads of original images. You can also customize your photo albums in many other ways.

This program doesn't require a web server to work. Once the HTML is generated, you can put it in your "www" directory.
