The Advene (Annotate DVd, Exchange on the NEt) project is aimed towards communities exchanging discourses (analysis, studies) about audiovisual documents (e.g. movies) in DVD format. This requires that audiovisual content and hypertext facilities be integrated, thanks to annotations providing explicit structures on audiovisual streams, upon which hypervideo documents can be engineered.

The cross-platform Advene application allows users to easily create comments and analyses of video documents, through the definition of time-aligned annotations and their mobilisation into automatically-generated or user-written comment views (HTML documents). Annotations can also be used to modify the rendition of the audiovisual document, thus providing virtual montage, captioning, navigation... capabilities. Users can exchange their comments/analyses in the form of Advene packages, independently from the video itself.

The Advene framework provides models and tools allowing to design and reuse annotations schemas; annotate video streams according to these schemas; generate and create Stream-Time Based (mainly video-centred) or User-Time Based (mainly text-centred) visualisations of the annotations. Schemas (annotation- and relation-types), annotations and relations, queries and views can be clustered and shared in units called packages. Hypervideo documents are generated when needed, both from packages (for annotation and view description) and DVDs (audiovisual streams).

Blender é uma suíte integrada em 3D para modelagem, animação, renderização, pós-produção, criação interativa e reprodução (jogos). Blender possui sua própria interface de usuário que é implementada completamente em OpenGL e projetada visando a rapidez/velocidade em mente. Vínculos Python estão disponíveis para criação de scripts; recursos de importação/exportação para formatos de arquivos populares como 3D Studio e Wavefront Obj foram implementados como scripts pela comunidade. Esta extensão adiciona suporte para MPEG, MPEG2, DVD, DivX, Ogg/Vorbis e muito mais formatos para qualquer navegador web baseado no Gecko (Firefox, Galeon etc). O processo de decodificação é feito pelo VLC e a janela de saída está embutida em uma página web ou diretamente na janela do navegador. Também há suporte para exibição em tela cheia (fullscreen) e controle javascript.

VLC é o reprodutor multimídia do projeto VideoLAN. Ele reproduz MPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, MOV, WMV, QuickTime, WebM, FLAC, MP3, arquivos Ogg/Vorbis, DVDs, VCDs, podcasts e fluxos de dados multimídia de vários locais de rede.

Camorama é um pequeno utilitário para visualizar e salvar imagens a partir de uma webcam ou qualquer outro dispositivo Video4Linux. Ele pode aplicar vários filtros de imagem e fazer capturas remotas.

O crtmpserver é um servidor de fluxo de dados multimídia de alta performance capaz de transmitir (ao vivo ou gravado) nas seguintes tecnologias: - De e para o Flash (RTMP, RTMPE, RTMPS, RTMPT, RTMPTE); - De e para dispositivos embarcados: iPhone e Android; - A partir de câmeras de vigilância; - IP-TV utilizando MPEG-TS e os protocolos RTSP/RTCP/RTP.

DeVeDe is a program to create video DVDs, suitable for home players, from any number of video files, in any of the formats supported by Mplayer.

It allows the user to create subtitles and even menus.

Dirac is an advanced royalty-free video compression format designed for a wide range of uses, from delivering low-resolution web content to broadcasting HD and beyond, to near-lossless studio editing.

This package contains some general command line utilities for dirac.

DVBcut is a Qt application that allows you to select certain parts of an MPEG transport stream (as received via Digital Video Broadcasting, DVB) and save these parts into a single MPEG output file. It follows a `keyhole surgery'' approach where the input video and audio data is mostly kept unchanged, and only very few frames at the beginning and/or end of the selected range are re-encoded in order to obtain a valid MPEG file.

DVBStreamer is a console based application to stream DVB/ATSC service(s) over UDP or to a file. It is more that just an app to stream AV though and feature a simple plugin architecture to allow more features to be added.

DVD Slideshow consists in a set of tools which allows one to create slideshows-style videos from a collection of pictures. This package provides the following programs:

• dir2slideshow: Generates a listing of the pictures in a given directory for easy input to dvd-slideshow.
• dvd-slideshow: This is the main script. It generates a DVD-compatible MPEG2 video file with audio from a text file input listing of pictures and effects.
• dvd-menu: Creates a simple DVD menu with buttons that link to MPEG2 files generated with dvd-slideshow or ones created by the user.
• gallery1-to-slideshow: Generates a text file listing of the pictures visible in a given "Gallery" (http://gallery.sourceforge.net) photo album in order to easily pass the information to dvd_slideshow.
• jigl2slideshow: Does the same thing as gallery2slideshow, but works on a jigl gallery.

DVDwizard provides a wrapper-script which incorporates a fully automated creation of a DVD-structure with Chapters and menus from one or more mpeg-streams. This is done by several sub-scripts and various freely available tools.

frei0r is a minimalistic plugin API for video sources and filters. The behavior of the effects can be controlled from the host by simple parameters. The intent is to solve the recurring reimplementation or adaptation issue of standard effects. It is not meant as a generic API for all kinds of video applications.

frei0r plugins are used by several projects (e.g.: LiVES, Veejay, Open Movie Editor, FreeJ, Pure Data Visual Junk Tools, MLT framework).

Gerbera is an UPnP MediaServer with a nice web user interface based on MediaTomb. It allows you to stream your digital media through your home network and listen to/watch it on a variety of UPnP compatible devices.

Gerbera implements the UPnP MediaServer V 1.0 specification that can be found on http://www.upnp.org/. The current implementation focuses on parts that are required by the specification, however Gerbera's functionality is extended to cover the optional parts of the spec as well.

G. JACK Transport is a standalone application that provides access to the Jack Audio Connection Kit's, JACK transport mechanism via a dynamic graphical slider.

In other words: this software allows one to seek Audio/Video media files when they are played along jack transport. Intended for audio-engineers or A/V editors that work with Ardour, Ecasound, Hydrogen, Xjadeo, etc.

Additionally it provides G. JACK Clock, a "Big Clock" display for jack-transport.

Crystal HD Solution is a product offered by Broadcom. It is used to enable flawless playback of 1080p high definition video across a wide range of systems.

MPlayer plays most MPEG, VOB, AVI, Ogg/OGM, VIVO, ASF/WMA/WMV, QT/MOV/MP4, FLI, RM, NuppelVideo, yuv4mpeg, FILM, RoQ, PVA files, supported by many native, XAnim, RealPlayer, and Win32 DLL codecs. It can also play VideoCD, SVCD, DVD, 3ivx, RealMedia, and DivX movies.

This package contains mencoder, a simple movie encoder, designed to encode MPlayer-playable movies (AVI/ASF/OGG/DVD/VCD/VOB/MPG/MOV/VIV/FLI/RM/NUV/NET) to other MPlayer-playable formats. It can encode with various codecs, like DivX4 (1 or 2 passes), libavcodec, PCM/MP3/VBRMP3 audio. Also has stream copying and video resizing capabilities.

The MP4v2 library provides an API to create and modify mp4 files as defined by ISO-IEC:14496-1:2001 MPEG-4 Systems. This file format is derived from Apple's QuickTime file format that has been used as a multimedia file format in a variety of platforms and applications. It is a very powerful and extensible format that can accommodate practically any type of media.

MP4v2 was originally bundled with mpeg4ip library, but has been moved into its own maintained library due to a combination of the cessation of support of mpeg4ip and the usefulness of this library on its own.

The multicat package contains a set of tools designed to easily and efficiently manipulate multicast streams in general, and MPEG-2 Transport Streams (ISO/IEC 13818-1) in particular.

The multicat suite of applications is very lightweight and designed to operate in tight environments. Memory and CPU usages are kept to a minimum, and they feature only one thread of execution.

nordlicht converts video files into colorful barcodes. It's heavily inspired by the "moviebarcode" tumblr. It takes the video's frames in regular intervals, scales them to 1px width, and appends them. The resulting barcodes can be integrated into video players for simplified navigation.

SMTube é uma aplicação gráfica independente que permite que se faça busca e download de vídeos do youtube. Embora seja parte do projeto SMPlayer, pode ser usada que qualquer reprodutor de mídia como mpv, MPlayer, VLC, Totem ou Dragon Player.

Transcode is a text console video-stream processing tool. It supports elementary video and audio frame transformations. Some example modules are included to enable import of MPEG-1/2, Digital Video, and other formats. It also includes export modules for writing to AVI files with DivX, OpenDivX, XviD, Digital Video or other codecs. Direct DVD transcoding is also supported. A set of tools is available to extract and decode the sources into raw video/audio streams for import and to enable post-processing of AVI files.

tsdecrypt reads incoming MPEG transport stream over UDP/RTP and then decrypts it using libdvbcsa and keys obtained from OSCAM or similar cam server. tsdecrypt communicates with CAM server using cs378x (camd35 over tcp) protocol or newcamd protocol.

The Voctomix Project by the C3Voc (the Chaos Communication Congress' Video Operation Crew) is their software implementation of a Live-Video-Mixer.

It is written in Python using GStreamer and consists of three parts:

• Voctocore, the videomixer core-process that does the actual video- and audio crunching.
• Voctogui, a GUI implementation in GTK+ controlling the core's functionality and giving visual feedback of the mixed video.
• Voctomix Example Scripts, a collection of tools and examples for talking to the core-process, feeding and receiving video-streams and controlling operations from scripts or command-line.
