Anki to program zaprojektowany do pomocy przy zapamiętywaniu prostych informacji (na przykład słów lub wyrażeń w języku obcym) tak łatwo, szybko i efektywnie, jak to tylko możliwe. W tym celu mierzy w jakim stopniu osoba ucząca się zapamiętuje każdą informację i wykorzystuje te dane do optymalnego rozplanowania czasu powtórki.

Oprócz tekstu, obsługuje dźwięki, obrazy oraz renderowanie fragmentów TeXa na kartach. Potrafi synchronizować talie kart z serwerem, aby można było przeglądać je na innych komputerach, poprzez interfejs WWW lub na urządzeniach mobilnych, do których także dostępne są wersje Anki. Kompletne talie kart oferowane przez innych użytkowników mogą być ściągane w ten sam sposób.

Możliwości Anki są elastyczne dzięki wtyczkom, które mogą być pobierane oraz instalowane z poziomu menu. Chociaż program Anki może być używany do nauki czegokolwiek, dostępne są wtyczki oferujące specjalne funkcje ułatwiające naukę języków japońskiego i angielskiego: wyszukiwanie w zintegrowanym słowniku, zgłaszanie brakujących znaków kanji itd.

Thonny is a simple Python IDE with features useful for learning programming.

It comes with a debugger which is able to visualize all the conceptual steps taken to run a Python program (executing statements, evaluating expressions, maintaining the call stack). There is a GUI for installing 3rd party packages and special mode for learning about references.

TiLP2 is a Texas Instruments hand-helds <-> PC communication program for Linux. It is able to use any type of link cable (Gray/Black/Silver/Direct Link) with any calculator. See http://lpg.ticalc.org/.

Freeplane is a free and open source software application that supports thinking, sharing information and getting things done at work, in school and at home. The core of the software is tools for mind mapping (also known as concept mapping or information mapping) and using mapped information.

Occupying the middle ground between an editor and a diagramming tool, Freeplane allows the user to add content as quickly and naturally as they would in a text editor, yet producing structured content that can be manipulated as easily as a diagram.

JClic is formed by a set of computer applications that are used for carrying out different types of educational activities: puzzles, associations, text exercises, crosswords...

The activities are not usually used alone, but packed in projects. A project is formed by a set of activities and one or more sequences, which indicate the order in which they have to be shown.

Its community (http://clic.xtec.net/db/listact_en.jsp) has developed a web site with more than 1.000 activities available in several languages.

This package contains JClic-author to create and modify activity projects, JClic standalone player to play the activities and JClic-reports that allows the management of a database to track students work and results.
