GIMP je pokročilý editor obrázkov. Môžete ho použiť na úpravu, rozšírenie a retušovanie fotografií a skenov, tvorbu kresieb, či vytvorenie vlastných obrázkov. Obsahuje rozsiahlu kolekciu profesionálnych editovacích nástrojov a filtrov, podobných nástrojom, ktoré môžete nájsť vo Photoshope. Veľa nastavení na konečné doladenie a vlastnosti ako vrstvy, cesty, masky a skriptovanie poskytujú úplnú kontrolu nad vašimi obrázkami.

Podporuje mnohé formáty súborov obrázkov vrátane súborov JPEG, Photoshop (.psd) a Paint Shop Pro (.psp). Je možné ho používať aj na skenovanie a tlačenie fotografií.

Na otváranie vzdialených súborov (napr. cez HTTP) si nainštalujte balík gvfs-backends.

Ak chcete používať rozhranie MIDI (ako hudobné klávesy) ako vstupné zariadenie pre GIMP, nainštalujte si balík libasound2 a prečítajte si postup v súbore /usr/share/doc/gimp/README.MIDI

Git is popular version control system designed to handle very large projects with speed and efficiency; it is used for many high profile open source projects, most notably the Linux kernel.

Git falls in the category of distributed source code management tools. Every Git working directory is a full-fledged repository with full revision tracking capabilities, not dependent on network access or a central server.

This package provides the git graphical user interface.

If aspell is installed, it can check the spelling of commit messages as the user types.

If meld is installed, it can be used for displaying diffs and for interactive merge conflict resolution.

KStars je vedecky presné planetárium pre pracovné prostredie, ktoré vizualizuje grafickú simuláciu nočnej oblohy z ľubovoľného miesta na Zemi v ľubovoľnom dátume a čase. Zobrazuje 130 000 hviezd, 13 000 vzdialených objektov, všetkých 8 planét, Slnko a Mesiac a tisíce komét a asteroidov. KStars napĺňa potreby študentov a amatérskych astronómov na všetkých úrovniach.

Databázu známych objektov je možné rozšíriť a aktualizovať z lokálnych alebo vzdialených databáz z používateľsky rozšíriteľného rozhrania. KStars navrhuje obzvlášť zaujímavé pozorovania s ohľadom na používateľa ako sú konjunkcie. Pre ciele zvolené používateľom navrhuje tie, ktoré je možné najlepšie pozorovať.

Softvér je možné používať na plánovanie experimentov po celom svete, napr. na komerčné služby riadené na diaľku. Ale KStars tiež obsahuje rozhranie INDI na ovládanie lokálnych teleskopov a fotoaparátov. NetworkX je balík jazyka Python na nástroj na tvorbu, manipuláciu a študovanie štruktúry, dynamiky a funkcií komplexných sietí.

Štruktúra grafu či siete je vyjadrená hranami (spojmi, spojeniami, väzbami, oblúkmi) medzi vrcholmi (uzlami, miestami, aktérmi). Bez ďalších upresnení sa grafom myslí jednoduchý neorientovaný graf, t.j. bez cyklov a bez viacnásobných hrán. Sieťou sa zvyčajne myslí graf s váhami (poliami, vlastnosťami) na uzloch alebo hranách.

pandas balík jazyka Python poskytujúci rýchle, flexibilné a expresívne údajové štruktúry navrhnuté na zjednodušenie a zintuitívnenie práce s „relačnými“ dátami a dátami „s označením“. Jeho cieľom je byť základným stavebným blokom praktickej analýzy dát skutočného sveta v jazyku Python. pandas sa hodí na rôzne druhy dát:

• Tabuľkové dáta so stĺpcami heterogénnych typov, ako v tabuľke SQL alebo hárku tabuľkového kalkulátora.
• Zoradené a nezoradené dáta časových radov (nie nutne s pevnou frekvenciou).
• Ľubovoľné maticové dáta (homogénneho alebo heterogénneho typu) s označením riadkov a stĺpcov.

SAOImage DS9 is an astronomical imaging and data visualization application. DS9 supports FITS images and binary tables, multiple frame buffers, region manipulation, and many scale algorithms and colormaps. It provides for easy communication with external analysis tasks and is highly configurable and extensible via XPA and SAMP.

All versions and platforms support a consistent set of GUI and functional capabilities.

DS9 supports advanced features such as 2-D, 3-D and RGB frame buffers, mosaic images, tiling, blinking, geometric markers, colormap manipulation, scaling, arbitrary zoom, cropping, rotation, pan, and a variety of coordinate systems.

The GUI for DS9 is user configurable. GUI elements such as the coordinate display, panner, magnifier, horizontal and vertical graphs, button bar, and color bar can be configured via menus or the command line.

GNU Screen je multiplexer terminálu, ktorý spúšťa niekoľko oddelených „obrazoviek” na jedinom fyzickom znakovom termináli. Každý virtuálny terminál emuluje DEC VT100 plus niekoľko funkcií ANSI X3.64 a ISO 2022. Relácie screen je možné odpojiť a neskôr znova pripojiť k inému terminálu.

Resample and co-add together FITS images using any arbitrary astrometric projection defined in the WCS standard. The main features of SWarp are:

• FITS format (including multi-extensions) in input and output,

ATpy is a high-level Python package providing a way to manipulate tables of astronomical data in a uniform way. It provides built-in support for NumPy recarrays and common astronomical file/database formats (FITS, VO, HDF5, and ASCII tables) with a very simple API.

Much of ATpy’s functionality has now been incorporated into Astropy, and there is no longer active development of new features in ATpy, instead focusing efforts on Astropy.

This program enables you to draw sky charts, making use of the data in 16 catalogs of stars and nebulae. In addition the position of planets, asteroids and comets are shown.

The purpose of this program is to prepare different sky maps for a particular observation. A large number of parameters help you to choose specifically or automatically which catalogs to use, the colour and the dimension of stars and nebulae, the representation of planets, the display of labels and coordinate grids, the superposition of pictures, the condition of visibility and more. All these features make this celestial atlas more complete than a conventional planetarium.
