AlgoBox is an algorithm creation and execution helper, targeted to French high school students. It’s based on an educational logic (learning via logical structures instead of piling up code lines).

Cantor is an application to allow you to you use your favorite mathematical applications from within an elegant worksheet interface. It provides dialogs to assist with common tasks and allows you to share your worksheets with others.

Cantor supports various mathematical applications as backends (provided in external packages):

Based on the C.a.R. (Compass and Ruler) project, CaRMetal includes all of its functionalities - or almost. It propose a different approach from the graphical interface point of view.

• Ruler and compass constructions can be changed by dragging one of the basic construction points. The construction follows immediately. The student can check the correctness of the construction and gain new insight.

• Tracks of points and animated constructions can help to understand geometric relations. Tracks can be used as new objects to explore.

• With the macros of C.a.R. very complicated constructions become possible. Macros are also a way to organize the geometric thinking.

• Hiding construction details and using colors make constructions clearer to read. In C.a.R. lines and circles can also be reduced to the relevant points.

• Arithmetic computations, numerical solutions, curves and functions go beyond classical constructions. It is even possible to construct in 3D using advanced macros.

• Other geometries, hyperbolic or elliptic, can be explored.

• Scripting (javascript based) of figures.

Gnuplot — утилита для построения графиков функций и числовых рядов с интерфейсом командной строки; поддерживает большое количество выходных форматов вместе с драйверами для многих принтеров, а также (La)TeX, (x)fig, Postscript и т.д. Вывод в графическом режиме X11 обеспечивается пакетом gnuplot-x11.

Встроенный язык (подобной C) позволяет работать с файлами данных и описывать сложные функции. Можно выполнять сглаживание, подбор сплайнов или нелинейное изменение, работать с комплексными числами.

Это метапакет пакет, устанавливающий один из вариантов gnuplot (-qt, -x11 или -nox).

Grace is a point-and-click tool that allows the user to draw X-Y plots. This is the program formerly known as Xmgr.

A few of its features are: User defined scaling, tick marks, labels, symbols, line styles, colors, polynomial regression, splines, running averages, DFT/FFT, cross/auto-correlation, batch mode for unattended plotting, and hardcopy support for PostScript, FrameMaker and several image formats.

This package installs the notebook signing tool.

The Jupyter Notebook is a web application that allows you to create and share documents that contain live code, equations, visualizations, and explanatory text. The Notebook has support for multiple programming languages, sharing, and interactive widgets.

This package provides the jupyter subcommands "notebook", "nbextension", "serverextension" and "bundlerextension".

KAlgebra is a algebraic graphing calculator with support for 3D graphing and MathML markup language.

A Jupyter Sphinx theme for narrative documentation.

It integrates the Bootstrap CSS / JavaScript framework with various layout options, hierarchical menu navigation, and mobile-friendly responsive design. It is configurable, extensible and can use any number of different Bootswatch CSS themes.

Matplotlib is a pure Python plotting library designed to bring publication quality plotting to Python with a syntax familiar to Matlab users. All of the plotting commands in the pylab interface can be accessed either via a functional interface familiar to Matlab users or an object oriented interface familiar to Python users.

This package contains the Python 3 version of matplotlib.

Rocs aims to be a Graph Theory IDE for helping professors to show the results of a graph algorithm and also helping students to do the algorithms.

Rocs has a scripting module, done in Qt Script, that interacts with the drawn graph and every change in the graph with the script is reflected on the drawn one.

The GNU Regression, Econometric and Time-Series Library (gretl) is a software package for econometric analysis. The package comprises a shared library, a command-line client program, and a graphical client built using GTK+.

This package provides the GTK+ client and the command-line client.

Kile -- дружелюбный редактор текстов LaTeX и оболочка TeX для KDE.

Mathomatic implements most of the rules of algebra for the mathematical operators +, -, *, /, % (modulus), and power (including roots).

Mathomatic can symbolically:

• combine and solve equations,
• completely simplify and compare expressions and equations,
• do simple calculus transformations and series,
• do standard, complex number, modular, and polynomial arithmetic,
• generate optimized C, Java, and Python language code from simplified equations,
• plot expressions with gnuplot in two or three dimensions,
• do quick calculations, colorize expressions, etc.

Octave is a (mostly MATLAB® compatible) high-level language, primarily intended for numerical computations. It provides a convenient command-line interface for solving linear and nonlinear problems numerically.

Octave can be dynamically extended with user-supplied C++ files.

PARI/GP is a widely used computer algebra system designed for fast computations in number theory (factorizations, algebraic number theory, elliptic curves...), but also contains a large number of other useful functions to compute with mathematical entities such as matrices, polynomials, power series, algebraic numbers etc., and a lot of transcendental functions. PARI is also available as a C library to allow for faster computations.

Originally developed by Henri Cohen and his co-workers (University Bordeaux I, France), PARI is now under the GPL and maintained by Karim Belabas with the help of many volunteer contributors.

This package contains the GP calculator.

This package provides a simple GUI, based on the GNU interface to Tcl/Tk, that is suitable for teaching introductory statistics.

RKWard aims to become an easy to use, transparent frontend to R, a powerful system for statistical computation and graphics. Besides a convenient GUI for the most important statistical functions, future versions will also provide seamless integration with an office-suite.

Scilab is a matrix-based scientific software package. Scilab contains hundreds of built-in mathematical functions, rich data structures (including polynomials, rationals, linear systems, lists, etc...) and comes with a number of specific toolboxes for control, signal processing, ...

This package also provides Xcos, a graphical editor to design hybrid dynamical systems models. Models can be designed, loaded, saved, compiled and simulated. Stable and efficient solution for industrial and academics needs, Xcos provides functionalities for modeling of mechanical systems (automotive, aeronautics...), hydraulic circuits (dam, pipe modeling...), control systems, etc. Modelica capabilities are also provided.

For a minimum version of scilab, install package "scilab-cli".

wxMaxima — графический интерфейс пользователя для системы компьютерной алгебры Maxima. Он упрощает использование Maxima, предоставляя возможность выполнять большинство команд через систему меню и диалоги для команд, имеющих более одного аргумента. Так же используются свои средства отображения математических символов напрямую, а не псевдографикой.

wxMaxima так же может создавать двух- и трёх-мерные рисунки прямо в тексте, простую анимацию, смешивать текст и математические вычисления при создании документов, экспортировать ввод или выводить результат в формате TeX, а также в обозреватель руководства по Maxima, включающий в себя индексный указатель команд и полнотекстовый поиск.

XaoS позволяет масштабировать фрактал и перемещаться по нему в реальном времени. Она позволяет отображать анимированные фракталы в графическом, или даже текстовом режиме.

Она отображает множество Мандельброта (и многие другие фракталы) и позволяет вам плавно изменять масштаб просматриваемого фрагмента фрактала. Различные цветовые режимы предоставлены для точек как внутри, так и снаружи фрактального множества. Дополнительно предоставлено переключение между фракталами типа Жулиа и Мандельброта

Также есть режим автопилота, изменение палитры, сохранение изображения, функция инверсии фрактала, фильтры и встроенный туториал по фракталам.

Yacas — маленький и весьма гибкий язык компьютерной алгебры.

Синтаксис весьма близок к Mathematica. Дистрибутив содержит маленькую библиотеку математических функций, но в действительности это сильный язык, на котором вы можете легко написать ваш собственный алгоритм символических манипуляций. Поддерживает арифметику с произвольной точностью.
