AlgoBox is an algorithm creation and execution helper, targeted to French high school students. It’s based on an educational logic (learning via logical structures instead of piling up code lines).

Cantor is an application to allow you to you use your favorite mathematical applications from within an elegant worksheet interface. It provides dialogs to assist with common tasks and allows you to share your worksheets with others.

Cantor supports various mathematical applications as backends (provided in external packages):

This package is part of the KDE education module.

Based on the C.a.R. (Compass and Ruler) project, CaRMetal includes all of its functionalities - or almost. It propose a different approach from the graphical interface point of view.

• Ruler and compass constructions can be changed by dragging one of the basic construction points. The construction follows immediately. The student can check the correctness of the construction and gain new insight.

• Tracks of points and animated constructions can help to understand geometric relations. Tracks can be used as new objects to explore.

• With the macros of C.a.R. very complicated constructions become possible. Macros are also a way to organize the geometric thinking.

• Hiding construction details and using colors make constructions clearer to read. In C.a.R. lines and circles can also be reduced to the relevant points.

• Arithmetic computations, numerical solutions, curves and functions go beyond classical constructions. It is even possible to construct in 3D using advanced macros.

• Other geometries, hyperbolic or elliptic, can be explored.

• Scripting (javascript based) of figures.

Geomview — інтерактивна геометрична програма, яка призначена для математичних досліджень та освіти. Зокрема, geomview може показувати предмети у гіперболічному та сферичному просторі не гірш аніж у Евклідовому.

Geomview підтримує велику кількість незалежно контрольованих об'єктів і камер. Можливий інтерактивний контроль за рухом, зовнішніми факторами (включаючи освітлення, затемнення і матеріали), вибір рівня редагування — об'єкта, ребра або вершини, збереження зображення у форматі SGI або Renderman RIB, додавання і вилучення об'єктів безпосередньо за допомогою миші, панелі управління і клавіатурних комбінацій. Зовнішні програми можуть керувати потрібними аспектами перегляду (включаючи завантажувану змінну геометрію або контролювання руху певних об'єктів) одночасно з інтерактивним контролем усього іншого.

Gnuplot is a portable command-line driven interactive data and function plotting utility that supports lots of output formats, including drivers for many printers, (La)TeX, (x)fig, Postscript, and so on. The X11-output is packaged in gnuplot-x11.

Data files and self-defined functions can be manipulated by the internal C-like language. Can perform smoothing, spline-fitting, or nonlinear fits, and can work with complex numbers.

This metapackage is to install a full-featured gnuplot (-qt, -x11 or -nox).

Grace is a point-and-click tool that allows the user to draw X-Y plots. This is the program formerly known as Xmgr.

A few of its features are: User defined scaling, tick marks, labels, symbols, line styles, colors, polynomial regression, splines, running averages, DFT/FFT, cross/auto-correlation, batch mode for unattended plotting, and hardcopy support for PostScript, FrameMaker and several image formats.

This package installs the notebook signing tool.

The Jupyter Notebook is a web application that allows you to create and share documents that contain live code, equations, visualizations, and explanatory text. The Notebook has support for multiple programming languages, sharing, and interactive widgets.

This package provides the jupyter subcommands "notebook", "nbextension", "serverextension" and "bundlerextension".

Kig is an application for interactive geometric construction, allowing students to draw and explore mathematical figures and concepts using the computer.

Kig supports macros and is scriptable using Python. It can import and export files in various formats, including SVG, Cabri, Dr. Geo, KGeo, KSeg, and XFig.

This package is part of the KDE education module.

KmPlot — потужний математичних графопобудовник для KDE, здатний будувати декілька функцій одночасно і комбінувати їх у нові функції.

Підтримуються побудова графіків функцій у декартовій і полярних координатах. Функції можуть бути задані параметрично або за допомогою диференціальних рівнянь. Графіки будуються з високою точністю і з правильним масштабом по осях.

KmPlot також надає візуальні та обчислювальні можливості, такі як заповнення та обчислення площі під графіком, знаходження максимумів і мінімумів, динамічна зміна параметрів функції та побудова графіків похідної і первісних.

A Jupyter Sphinx theme for narrative documentation.

It integrates the Bootstrap CSS / JavaScript framework with various layout options, hierarchical menu navigation, and mobile-friendly responsive design. It is configurable, extensible and can use any number of different Bootswatch CSS themes.

This package contains the Python 3 version of the theme.

Matplotlib is a pure Python plotting library designed to bring publication quality plotting to Python with a syntax familiar to Matlab users. All of the plotting commands in the pylab interface can be accessed either via a functional interface familiar to Matlab users or an object oriented interface familiar to Python users.

This package contains the Python 3 version of matplotlib.

The GNU Regression, Econometric and Time-Series Library (gretl) is a software package for econometric analysis. The package comprises a shared library, a command-line client program, and a graphical client built using GTK+.

This package provides the GTK+ client and the command-line client.

Kile — зручний редактор текстів LaTeX та оболонка TeX для KDE.

Редактор вихідних текстів дозволяє одночасно працювати з кількома файлами форматів .tex і .bib. Меню, помічники та авто-доповнення спрощують вставку теґів і генерацію коду. Структурний вид документа допомагає у навігації по файлам сирців.

Оболонка TeX об’єднує різні інструменти, необхідні для обробки TeX-файлів. Вона допомагає компілювати тексти LaTeX, переглядати документи DVI і postscript, генерувати бібліографію та індекси та виконувати інші поширені завдання.

Kile може підтримувати великі проекти, що складаються з декількох невеликих файлів.

Mathomatic implements most of the rules of algebra for the mathematical operators +, -, *, /, % (modulus), and power (including roots).

Mathomatic can symbolically:

• combine and solve equations,
• completely simplify and compare expressions and equations,
• do simple calculus transformations and series,
• do standard, complex number, modular, and polynomial arithmetic,
• generate optimized C, Java, and Python language code from simplified equations,
• plot expressions with gnuplot in two or three dimensions,
• do quick calculations, colorize expressions, etc.

Octave is a (mostly MATLAB® compatible) high-level language, primarily intended for numerical computations. It provides a convenient command-line interface for solving linear and nonlinear problems numerically.

Octave can be dynamically extended with user-supplied C++ files.

PARI/GP is a widely used computer algebra system designed for fast computations in number theory (factorizations, algebraic number theory, elliptic curves...), but also contains a large number of other useful functions to compute with mathematical entities such as matrices, polynomials, power series, algebraic numbers etc., and a lot of transcendental functions. PARI is also available as a C library to allow for faster computations.

Originally developed by Henri Cohen and his co-workers (University Bordeaux I, France), PARI is now under the GPL and maintained by Karim Belabas with the help of many volunteer contributors.

This package contains the GP calculator.

This package provides a simple GUI, based on the GNU interface to Tcl/Tk, that is suitable for teaching introductory statistics.

RKWard aims to become an easy to use, transparent frontend to R, a powerful system for statistical computation and graphics. Besides a convenient GUI for the most important statistical functions, future versions will also provide seamless integration with an office-suite.

Scilab — пакет наукового ПЗ, в основі якого лежить робота з матрицями. Scilab містить сотні вбудованих математичних функцій, різноманітні структури даних (зокрема поліноми, раціональні дроби, лінійні системи, списки тощо) та поставляється з блоками для керування, обробки сигналів тощо.

Цей пакунок також надає Xcos — графічний редактор для розробки моделей гібридних динамічних систем. Моделі можуть бути спроектовані, завантажені, збережені, скомпільовані та змодельовані. Стабільне й ефективне рішення для промислових й наукових потреб — Xcos надає функціональні можливості для моделювання механічних систем (автомобільна, авіаційна галузі, …), гідравлічних ланцюгів (моделювання гребель, труб …), систем керування і т.д. Можливості мови моделювання Modelica також надаються.

Для мінімальної версії Scilab, встановіть пакунок „scilab-cli“.

wxMaxima — графічний інтерфейс користувача для системи комп’ютерної алгебри Maxima. Він спрощує використання Maxima, надаючи можливість виконувати більшість команд через систему меню та діалоги для команд, що мають більше одного аргументу. Так само використовуються свої засоби для відображення математичних символів безпосередньо, а не псевдографікою.

wxMaxima так само може створювати двох- та трьох-вимірні малюнки прямо в тексті, просту анімацію, змішувати текст й математичні обчислення при створенні документів, експортувати введення чи виводити результат у форматі TeX, а також є оглядач керівництва по Maxima, що включає в себе індексний покажчик команд та повнотекстовий пошук.

„XaoS“ дозволяє збільшувати та пересуватись по фракталу у реальному часі. Він може показувати анімовані фрактали у графічному чи, навіть, у текстовому вигляді.

Він показує набір Мандельброта або багато інших фракталів та дозволяє здійснювати плавне заглиблення у фрактал. Надаються різноманітні кольорові режими для точок всередині та зовні обраного набору. На додачу, надаються можливість перемикання між типами фракталів Мандельброта та Джулія.

Серед інших можливостей режим автопілота, зміна палітр, збереження зображень, інверсія фракталів, фільтри та вбудований підручник по фракталах.

Yacas is a small and highly flexible computer algebra language.

The syntax is very close to Mathematica. The distribution contains a small library of mathematical functions, but its real strength is in the language in which you can easily write your own symbolic manipulation algorithms. It supports arbitrary precision arithmetic.
