Arithmetic coding is a general technique for coding the outcome of a
stochastic process based on an adaptive model. The expected bit rate is the
cross-entropy rate of the model versus the actual process. PPM, prediction by
partial matching, is an adaptive statistical model of a symbol sequence which
models the likelihood of the next byte based on a (relatively short) suffix of
the sequence of previous bytes.

Die Succinct Data Structure Library (SDSL) ist eine leistungsstarke und
flexible C++11-Bibliothek, die prägnante Datenstrukturen implementiert.
Insgesamt enthält die Bibliothek die Glanzlichter von 40
Forschungspublikationen. Prägnante Datenstrukturen können ein Objekt
(wie einen Bitvektor oder einen Baum) mit einem Platzbedarf nahe an
der informationstheoretischen Untergrenze des Objekts darstellen und
gleichzeitig die Operationen des ursprünglichen Objekts effizient
unterstützen. Die theoretische Zeitkomplexität einer Operation an
der klassischen Datenstruktur und der gleichwertigen, prägnanten
Datenstruktur sind (meist) identisch.

TANGO ist ein objektorientiertes verteiltes Steuerungssystem, das CORBA
nutzt. In TANGO repräsentieren alle Objekte Geräte, die in
demselben Computer eingebaut oder über ein Netzwerk verteilt sein können.
Die Kommunikation zwischen den Geräten verwendet CORBA und kann synchron,
asynchron oder ereignisgesteuert sein.
Das Objektmodell von TANGO unterstützt Methoden, Attribute und
Eigenschaften. TANGO bietet eine API, die alle Details des Netzwerkzugriffs
verbirgt. Die API bietet die Entdeckung von Objekten, das Browsen in
Objekten und Sicherheitsfunktionen. Permanente Daten werden in einer
MySQL/MariaDB-Datenbank gespeichert.
TANGO wird aktiv als Kooperationsprojekt zwischen ESRF (www.esrf.eu),
Soleil (synchrotron-soleil.fr), Alba (www.cells.es) und Elettra
(www.elettra.trieste.it) entwickelt.

SAC and MiniSEED are two commonly used formats for seismological data.
mseed2sac converts MiniSEED waveform data to SAC format. The output SAC
file can be either ASCII or binary (either byte-order), the default is
binary with the same byte-order as the host computer. By default all
aspects of the input files are automatically detected.

External data is often distributed as "flat files", i.e.
dumps into a mostly human-readable format that one could
open as a spreadsheet and equally easy parse and index or
reimport into a local database. When the text file changes,
the database needs to be updated, too. If access to the database
is first required, the text file needs to be downloaded first
and the database created. Remote updates also require local updates.
This package provides a set of helper functions to address the
handling of remote files and the curation of local databases
derived from them.

Intake is a lightweight set of tools for loading and sharing data in
data science projects. Intake helps you:
1. Load data from a variety of formats into containers you already know,
like Pandas dataframes, Python lists, NumPy arrays and more.
2. Convert boilerplate data loading code into reusable intake plugins.
3. Describe data sets in catalog files for easy reuse and sharing
between projects and with others.
4. Share catalog information (and data sets) over the network with the
Intake server.

TANGO is an object oriented distributed control system using CORBA,
mainly developed by the Controls Section of the ALBA Synchrotron.
PyTango provides bindings for its client- and server-side C++ APIs.
With PyTango, you can write TANGO device servers and TANGO applications
(scripts, CLIs, GUIs) that access TANGO device servers in pure Python.

This is a C library for Raspberry Pi (RPi). It provides access to GPIO and
other IO functions on the Broadcom BCM 2835 chipp, as used in the RaspberryPi,
allowing access to the 26 pin ISE plug on the RPi board so you can control and
interface with various external devices.

This package contains functions to draw a tree structure,
similar to the tree Debian package, from arbitrary nested
Python data structures, with configurable layout, sets of
characters (ASCII or various Unicode line drawing), etc.
It includes predefined structure traversal methods for
(optionally ordered) dictionaries but allows the user to
write their own to traverse custom data structures.

The mi R package provides functions for data manipulation, imputing missing
values in an approximate Bayesian framework, diagnostics of the models used to
generate the imputations, confidence-building mechanisms to validate some of
the assumptions of the imputation algorithm, and functions to analyze multiply
imputed data sets with the appropriate degree of sampling uncertainty.

High-level R interface to data files written using Unidata's netCDF
library (version 4 or earlier), which are binary data files that are
portable across platforms and include metadata information in addition
to the data sets. Using this package, netCDF files
(either version 4 or "classic" version 3) can be opened and data sets
read in easily. It is also easy to create new netCDF dimensions,
variables, and files, in either version 3 or 4 format, and manipulate
existing netCDF files.
