CalculiX GraphiX (cgx) is a 3-dimensional pre- and post-processor for finite elemnts. CalculiX CrunchiX Finite Element Models can be build, calculated and post-processed. The pre- and post-processor is an interactive 3D-tool using the openGL API.

In addition to the Calculix CrunchiX results files (frd) results from OpenFoam, Duns (2D and 3D), Isaac (2D and 3D) and Nastran (f06) can be read. For preprocessing Netgen nativ format, STEP and STL can be imported.

The CFD General Notation System (CGNS) provides a general, portable, and extensible standard for the storage and retrieval of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis data. It consists of a collection of conventions, and free and open software implementing those conventions. It is self-descriptive, machine-independent, well-documented, and administered by an international steering committee. It is also an American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Recommended Practice.

Code_Aster is a finite element solver for partial differential equations. It is particularly suited to problems involving heat transfer, mechanics, fluids, and fluid-structure interactions. It is the product of Electricité de France (EDF) and is ISO 9001-certified.

This is the top-level Code Aster package. It ships configuration files, shared data (such as the elements catalog) and the Python library used by the underlying engine. Install also the suggested packages for a more complete setup with other useful programs.

Die grundlegenden Funktionen von Code_Saturne ermöglichen die Bearbeitung von entweder inkompressiblen oder expandierbaren Strömungen mit oder ohne Wärmetransport und Turbulenz. Spezielle Module sind verfügbar für spezielle physikalische Probleme wie Wärmeübertragung durch Strahlung, Verbrennung (Gas, Kohle, Schweröl, ...), Magnetohydrodynamik, kompressible Strömungen, Zweiphasenströmungen (Euler-Lagrange-Ansatz mit Zweiwege-Kopplung), Erweiterungen für spezielle Anwendungen (z.B. das Mercure_Saturne-Modell für atmosphärische Berechnungen).

Mittels MPI arbeitet die Software auf Maschinen mit verteiltem Speicher parallel. Sie wird seit 1997 bei EDF R&D entwickelt. Sie beruht auf einem Ansatz benachbarter finiter Volumen, der Netze mit allen Arten von Zellen (tetraedisch, hexaedisch, prismatisch, pyramidenförmig, polyedrisch, ...) und jede Art der Gitterstruktur (unstrukturiert, blockstrukturiert, hybrid, übereinstimmend oder mit hängenden Knoten, ...) akzeptiert.

DIET (Distributed Interactive Engineering Toolbox) is a middleware designed for HPC (High Performance Computing) in heterogeneous and distributed environments (workstations, clusters, grids, clouds). DIET provides a standard-compliant implementation of OGF (Open Grid Forum) Grid RPC API. It works in a hierarchical fashion, clients requests computational resources to a hierarchy of agents which will choose the most adequate computational service (known as SeD or Server Daemon).

DIET is the core component of SysFera-DS HPC middleware (http://www.sysfera.com/SysFera-DS,10).

This package include agents necessary to run a DIET hierarchy.

Dime is a C++ class library for reading, constructing, manipulating, and writing DXF file data.

The basic capabilities of Code_Saturne enable the handling of either incompressible or expandable flows with or without heat transfer and turbulence. Dedicated modules are available for specific physics such as radiative heat transfer, combustion (gas, coal, heavy fuel oil, ...), magneto-hydrodynamics, compressible flows, two-phase flows (Euler-Lagrange approach with two-way coupling), extensions to specific applications (e.g. Mercure_Saturne for atmospheric environment).

It runs in parallel with MPI on distributed memory machines. Developed since 1997 at EDF R&D, it is based on a co-located Finite Volume approach that accepts meshes with any type of cell (tetrahedral, hexahedral, prismatic, pyramidal, polyhedral...) and any type of grid structure (unstructured, block structured, hybrid, conforming or with hanging nodes, ...).

ECS means "Enveloppe Code Saturne". This package is the Pre-processing module of Code_Saturne (a computational fluid dynamics free software).

FEniCS is a collection of free software for automated, efficient solution of differential equations.

FEniCS has an extensive list of features, including automated solution of variational problems, automated error control and adaptivity, a comprehensive library of finite elements, high performance linear algebra and many more.

FEniCS is organized as a collection of interoperable components, including the problem-solving environment DOLFIN, the form compiler FFC, the finite element tabulator FIAT, the just-in-time compiler Instant, the code generation interface UFC, the form language UFL and a range of additional components.

This is a metapackage which depends on all FEniCS components.

This is the legacy version of FEniCS. You may want to consider installing the next-generation FEniCS-X (fenicx package).

FreeCAD ist ein quelloffenes CAx-RAD-System, das OpenCasCade, Qt und Python verwendet. GetDP is a general finite element solver using mixed elements to discretize de Rham-type complexes in one, two and three dimensions.

The main feature of GetDP is the closeness between the input data defining discrete problems (written by the user in ASCII data files) and the symbolic mathematical expressions of these problems.

Gmsh ist ein Generator für 3D-Finite-Elemente-Netze mit integrierter CAD-Engine und Postprozessor. Sein Entwurfsziel ist die Bereitstellung eines schnellen, leichtgewichtigen Netz-Werkzeugs mit parametrischer Eingabe und hochentwickelten Visualisierungsmöglichkeiten. Gmsh wurde um vier Module herum gebaut: Geometrie, Netzgenerierung, Gleichungslöser und Nachbearbeitung. This package contains a number of utilities for manipulating and viewing Silo files. Silo is a scientific data format library.

Silo supports gridless (point) meshes, structured meshes, unstructured-zoo and unstructured-arbitrary-polyhedral meshes, block structured AMR meshes, constructive solid geometry (CSG) meshes, piecewise-constant (e.g. zone-centered) and piecewise-linear (e.g. node-centered) variables defined on the node, edge, face or volume elements of meshes as well as the decomposition of meshes into arbitrary subset hierarchies including materials and mixing materials. In addition, Silo supports a wide variety of other useful objects to address various scientific computing application needs. Although the Silo library is a serial library, it has some key features which enable it to be applied quite effectively and scalable in parallel.

Application areas for escript include earth mantle convection, geophysical inversion, earthquakes, porous media flow, reactive transport, plate subduction, erosion, and tsunamis.

SolveSpace is a parametric 2d/3d CAD program. Applications include:

  • modeling 3d parts — draw with extrudes, revolves, and Boolean (union / difference) operations;
  • modeling 2d parts — draw the part as a single section, and export DXF, PDF, SVG; use 3d assembly to verify fit;

Approximate Nearest Neighbor (ANN) ist eine C++-Bibliothek, die Datenstrukturen und -algorithmen für Exact- und Approximate-Nearest-Neighbor-Suchen in beliebig hohen Dimensionen unterstützt. ANN nimmt an, dass die Messung aller Abstände mit Distanzfunktionen erfolgt, die zu den Minkowski-Metriken gehören. Das schließt den bekannten euklidischen Abstand, die Manhattan- sowie die Maximum-Distanz ein. ANN arbeitet ziemlich effizient mit Datensätzen in der Größenordnung von tausenden bis hunderttausenden Punkten und bis zu 20 Dimensionen.

Dieses Paket enthält die Programme ann2fig und ann_sample. Ersteres zeigt die Ausgabe von ANN im fig-Format an, letzteres ist ein beispielhaftes Demonstrationsprogramm für ANN.

CalculiX GraphiX (cgx) is a 3-dimensional pre- and post-processor for finite elemnts. CalculiX CrunchiX Finite Element Models can be build, calculated and post-processed. The pre- and post-processor is an interactive 3D-tool using the openGL API.

In addition to the Calculix CrunchiX results files (frd) results from OpenFoam, Duns (2D and 3D), Isaac (2D and 3D) and Nastran (f06) can be read. For preprocessing Netgen nativ format, STEP and STL can be imported.

This package contains the examples.
