Basato sul progetto C.a.R. (Compass and Ruler, compasso e righello), CaRMetal include tutte, o quasi, le sue funzionalità. Propone un diverso approccio dal punto di vista dell'interfaccia grafica.

  • Le costruzioni con righello e compasso possono essere modificate trascinando uno dei punti base di costruzione. La costruzione si adatta immediatamente. Lo studente può controllare la correttezza della costruzione e apprendere nuove conoscenze approfondite.
  • Tracce di punti e costruzioni animate possono essere d'aiuto per capire le relazioni geometriche. Le tracce possono essere usate come nuovi oggetti da esplorare.
  • Con le macro di C.a.R. diventano possibili costruzioni veramente complesse. Le macro sono anche un modo per organizzare il pensiero geometrico.
  • Nascondendo i dettagli di costruzione e usando i colori, rende le costruzioni più chiare da leggere. In C.a.R. linee e circonferenze possono anche essere ridotti ai punti rilevanti.
  • I calcoli aritmetici, le soluzioni numeriche, le curve e le funzioni vanno oltre le costruzioni classiche. È persino possibile costruire in 3D usando macro avanzate.
  • Possono essere esplorate altre geometrie: iperbolica o ellittica.
  • Creazione di script (basata su JavaScript) di figure.
